About Us
Welcome to Thriving Horses Consulting, founded with a goal to help new equine property owners create an atmosphere where horses can thrive, naturally.
Thriving Horses was founded by Rochelle Moniz, whose deep-rooted passion for the equine lifestyle began at the age of 5. While growing up on a farm, her childhood was filled with daily horse rides, assisting in breeding and training miniature horses. At 15, she discovered her love for English jumping while working as a stable hand at an English barn East of Regina.
Rochelle would work and take lessons at that stable, until she began assisting starting horses under saddle a year later. Her passion for horses only grew stronger. In 2012, she decided to pursue her dreams of a career in the industry and enrolled at Olds College. There, she graduated with a Diploma in Equine Science, majoring in English Horsemanship. Following college, Rochelle spent two years honing her skills and training horses at a barn North of Regina.

In 2016 Rochelle accepted a job offer to manage a horse boarding facility west of Calgary which is popularly known as DMC Stables. Since moving to Alberta, she has mastered her skills in equine management and has created a well-sought-after community at DMC.

Rochelle now lives with her husband Jim, son Wyatt, daughter Emily, 3 cats, 1 dog and 3 horses in Cochrane, Alberta. When she's not hard at work in the stable, you can find her back at the stable riding, or spending time with her family.
